ALEX RASMUSSEN
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Alex Rasmussen, Managing Director of AkomiDance, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from California State University, Fullerton and is currently the Manager of Investment and Retirement Services at The LBL Group. She serves as a consultant on retirement plans for various companies including those in healthcare, law, manufacturing, franchise and CSU auxiliaries. She holds her AIF (Accredited Investment Fiduciary) and CPFA (Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor) designations and also serves on The Standard's Advisor Council, lending her expertise to enhancing the retirement industry.
Alex completed her formative dance training under the tutelage of Tina Caspary-Cyphert, Dennis Caspary, Dee Caspary, and Tina D’amato Sidoni. She continued her dance education post high school with, among others, Erin Landry, Keisha Clark-Booth and Merle Sepel. It was during her time at Cypress College that she had the opportunity to work with Marie Hoffman, a connection that would ultimately result in Mrs. Rasmussen becoming an integral part of the AkomiDance directorial team. Her training in the Cypress College Dance Department also afforded Alex the privilege of performing Erin Landry’s piece, “Celestial Spirits” at the American College Dance Festival. Mrs. Rasmussen joined AkomiDance in 2013, and travelled with the company to the Czech Republic, where they were featured performers in the New Prague Dance Festival and Alex performed in the ensemble casts of Marie Hoffman’s works, “Always, Frank and Mary” and “Poseidon’s Dream.” As a dancer in the company, she has danced the works of both Artistic Directors in various concerts and festivals in Orange and Los Angeles counties, including the Laguna Beach Dance Festival, the SOLA Festival, the San Pedro Festival of the Arts, and the Los Angeles Dance Festival. In addition to her extensive skill as a modern dancer, Alex is proficient in several styles of jazz dance. Most recently, she has been training with Pat Taylor and JazzAntiqua in Los Angeles and in 2019, had the good fortune to travel to New York to dance as an extra in the film version of Lin-Manual Miranda’s “In the Heights.” Alex is a respected jazz dance choreographer and her works have been showcased at Cypress College, at the Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts, at the Steel Magnolias Charity Benefit Events, at the Orange County Realtors Associate Events, and the Long Beach Yacht Club Events.
Alex was promoted to the position of Managing Director for AkomiDance in 2016 and in that capacity, was a key component in the acquisition of our 501C3 status, an accomplishment of which she is quite proud. Alex continues to perform works with the company while maintaining the financial stability of AkomiDance. And, when not immersing herself in the finance industry and the company, she finds the time to serve on the Los Angeles Rams Fan Council and is a proud member of the “Ramily,” – Whose house??? Ram’s House!!! |
